Italian term or phrase: modo impulsivo
The sentence says:
"Se programmata mantenuta segue lo stato del settore/i associato. Se programmata impulsiva, all’attivazione del settore/i associato l’uscita va alta per circa tre secondi e poi torna a riposo"

and previous reference is made to "modo impulsivo".
I'm torn between "push mode" and "impulsive mode" but they may both be wrong.
Anyone kind enough to help, but with references please!!!
TIA

pulse mode
Explanation:
Yo!
Given that "impulso" is often used for "pulse", I'd go with "pulse mode".
For example:
Detection Technology offers low-noise discrete component and integrated ASIC amplifiers for pulse-mode applications. These amplifiers are optimized for silicon detectors.

There are lots of reference (many in pdf form) on both Yahoo and Google.
Hope this helps. Howya doing?

Thanks for the pointer - and to those who backed up the suggestion. Always useful. Thanks to Derek for "jog". Made me ponder, but opted for pulse mode in the end.
How'm I doin'? Well, in this heat, battling away with fiendish, incomprehensible manuals, in PageMaker to boot, when everyone else is down at the lido...
