It could be input and output. Especially since the text was about a transformer. Then it would be simply input reactive and output reactive. But the original stated that the parameter was between one and the other, so that's the only way it made sense to me.

the last bit throwing me off is that, in my document, they use both terms in Italian: (assorbimento/induttivo) vs (erogazione/capacitivo)

Is it necessarily wrong to translate these into power absorption vs power supply or power delivery? or as simon insists input vs output? are there synonyms used in the industry?

So why not: "assorbimento" = "input" (instead of "inductive"); and "erogazione" = "output" (instead of "capacitive")?

Indeed, see my note above... (Re: capacitive circuit vs. inductive circuit). In the trade it is just shortened to capacitive or inductive.
