Italian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / Winding machine for wires
Italian term or phrase: il motore è sempre in coppia.
I am translating an a manual in Italian about a wire winder/unwinder which in turn appears to have been translated from another language with sometimes contorted sentences. It states that when the illuminated button lights up is "il motore del Myler è sempre in coppia." Now coppia may mean couple or is may mean torque but this sentence has no sense.

Any ideas???

the motor is always/still in gear

Explanation:
I think Earnest is right in saying that the motor is 'engaged'. In this sense I would translate 'in coppia' as 'in gear'.
