I know what "montare" and "macchina" mean in Italian, but in this particular instance it didn't sound like the installation of machinery was correct. This person worked in the field of electrical engineering developing schematics and software. For example, this company works in the same field and mentions the term in this pdf on page 12: http://www.die.unipd.it/~andriollo/didattica/corsi/Conversio...
I thought maybe "power station installation" could be a possible translation?
Also, how do I edit this question so that the term reads "montante" instead of "montata"?

Oops sorry. I wrote it wrong. It should be "montante macchina". I am a little tired.
