This is an article on an appartment in Milan's Cotti di Brusasco building focusing on the lighting design:

Lo stesso impianto luci è stato utilizzato dietro il mobile giorno e sotto il letto, per dare più leggerezza ai contenitori. I due locali affacciano su un balconcino anch’esso illuminato: si è favorita l’illuminazione del verde, per conferire profondità di campo allo spazio interno; entrando di sera, le finestre frontali riquadrano i chiaroscuri prodotti dalla vegetazione creando un suggestivo scenario.

What is being referred to with the verde? Is it talking about the green spaces outside (I can't imagine the would be in inner city Milan) or is it green lighting?

thanks for your help, I think this makes most sense in the context. I found out it's a flat lolling onto an internal courtyard (with plants). cheers.
