There's already a kudoz for this, by Peter Cox almost exactly a year ago. He got no answers (http://www.proz.com/kudoz/917710).

I have about as much context as Peter had. "Sistemi amplidiffusione."

Explanation:
Hi Ryan,

I searched for sistemi ampli-whatever and found this

http://www.google.it/search?q=Sistemi+amplidiffusione&source...

Impianto di amplidiffusione con microfoni fissi Lavagne a fogli mobili

Servizi tecnici impianto di amplificazione diffusione di messaggi sonori proiettori diapositive lavagne luminose schermi per proiezioni videoregistratori VHS

http://www.godado.it/godado.pperl/page=EfJk/mp=A1/k=0aEf03Ef...

That sounds to me like a Public Address or PA system,

Check this search for: Public Address systems microphones overhead projectors

http://www.google.it/search?hs=VSg&hl=it&client=firefox-a&rl...

So, I reckon amplidiffu-whatever are systems for the amplified diffusion of sound – Public Address (PA) systems, used in conference halls, airports, places like that.

agree Alfredo Tutino: amplification and diffusion, in fact - a portmanteau word (it is used, sometimes, but it's a very ugly word, and I cannot see any reason for it...)

PA system

Explanation:
I'd say. Pretty creative word, I've never heard it before but that's the image my Italian brain gets from it ;-)
As Pamela indicated to Peter Cox, it's made up of amplification (ampli-) and broadcasting (diffusione).
