Italian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Energy / Power Generation / steam turbines/generator
Italian term or phrase: Cappa di blindaggio;
unfortunately I have practically no more context about this, the document is about a new steam turbine for the production of electricity, and there are loads of lists (without any real further details or explanations, or diagrams), such as valves, nozzles, control units.
This is the "context", if we want to call it as such:

"Elenco materiali del generatore
Statore;
Rotore;
Cappe di blindaggio;
Scambiatori;
Tubazioni;"

I have found this page http://www.omssrl.it/diagnostiva_e_controlli_su_alter.htm
and I believe this is exactly the part I need to translate - it's a casing, but I am totally clueless about the correct technical term (and a totally blank brain given the time of night).
TIA!!

English translation:retaining ring
Explanation:
I don't think it's the outer casing, but a shield that is lining the casing. Below I am giving a link to the translation in iate and another link to show what a retaining ring looks like.

thank you very much (and to Cedric and EleoE as well).
I did a bit more research and asked a friend who is a mechanical engineer, and yes, it's a sort of inner casing of the generator, as can be seen in the link Cedric provided. I thought it weird at first, as generally retaining rings are quite slim and used for other things, but yep, you're right!

exhaust hood casing

Explanation:
Here's an illustration from the Italian reference,
http://www-3.unipv.it/dmae/materiale_didattico/Costruzioni_1...
from what I can gather, it is not just an outer casing but an inner shielding casing for cooling the last stage near the windings of the alternator. I wouldn't call it a ring either as it does not seem to be a solid piece, but a set of perforated plates. I'm not at all sure of this, I might add. It is an educated guess and nothing more.
