I mean, may-be the compressed air system is exclusively devoted to the istruments functions.
In the link quoted below, the "aria strumenti" is listed among the aux systems for production lines(IMPIANTI AUSILIARI ALLE LINEE DI PRODUZlONE "UTILITIES")...
However int the second link quoted, you can see that the achronym for "aria strumenti" is IA, which is probably coming from "Instrument Air", also quated in the English PDF http://www.cepmagazine.org/pdf/080441.pdf
