Italian term or phrase: cordonatura

Qualora qualche nervatura fosse ad altezza superiore alle altre, tale nervatura dovra essere isolata mediante cordonatura; lo spessore di isolamento al di sopra della nervatura non dovra essere inferiore a 50 mm; la larghezza della cordonatura dovra essere almeno 100 mm superiore a quella della nervatura.

In the section on insulation of conduits and tanks. I know that ribbing is the correct term for nervatura, but can't work out what the cordonatura is in this context.
