Italian term or phrase: sacca
Found in a list of items for which permits are being issued by a Water Authority in a lagoon area: "per l’allevamento dei mitili, per la raccolta delle alghe, per le **sacche** e le discariche"..." Any ideas? Thanks, Sarah.

bag
Explanation:

I hadn't thought of the mussel bag possibility at all and will be getting back to the client for clarification. I think though it is more probable, given the reference to dumps, that it refers to an artificial inlet. Thanks to you both, Sarah.
