advocates of sustainability
Explanation:
Though I don't agree that advocates of sustainability regard nature as a resource to be managed - they seem to be misunderstanding the word, perhaps deliberately.

  -> I agree with Phil's translation too! However I think that all alternatives should be put on the table so the translator can choose according to his own requirements and context, and this term is obviously used as well in some cases.

sustainability movement

Explanation:
The question asks "is there a term fort [sic] this or is it simply supporters"? I would instinctively go with supporters - but the whole text is obviously trying to malke the difference between two types of supporters - sostenibilisti and conservazionisti.

So it's a case of comparing movements or trends.

We could translate 'sostenibilisti' as 'advocates of sustainability' - or better something shorter like 'sustainability advocates'.

Still I believe there is already a common idiom for this movement: sustainability movement

I feel there's no single accepted noun like 'sustainabilists' or similar.

Example sentences

The publication of Silent Spring by Rachel Carson marked another major milestone for the sustainability movement."

"What is "the sustainability movement"? What are its roots, and where is it going?

Sustainability lobby/sustainability campaigners

Explanation:

HTH

Example sentence(s):
  • Let’s have clean transport and energy in socially integrated cities but lets make it for the people of that city rather than for a quasi-religious vision of the planet or, as is now increasingly common amongst the sustainability lobby, for a dystopian v
  • On top of this, environmentalists and the sustainability lobby are raising ever stronger voices resisting the despoilment of the countryside and the depletion of natural resources that accompany aggregate extraction.
