This is from the environmental statement of a company that manufactures silicon for various purposes. Here's the paragraph:

Gli effetti degli interventi via via attuati nel corso degli anni sono regolarmente seguiti attraverso piani di monitoraggio dell’acqua di prima falda, con campionamento delle acque dai piezometri di controllo e analisi dei contaminanti presenti, conformemente a quanto disposto dal piano di monitoraggio interno predisposto sulla base della normativa vigente e delle linee guida della societa'.

I know that acqua di falda = groundwater, but am not enough of a geology expert to be able to translate "acqua di prima falda" (water from top/uppermost/first water table?).
