Italian term or phrase: idraulica

This is from a report describing a flood management and monitoring system.

"interventi di manutenzione idraulica ordinaria, di idraulica forestale, di rinaturazione"

this and similar terms appear frequently throughout the document.

I've noticed there are similar glossary posts translating this as "hydraulic" and others simply using "water".

Does anyone know which is the most used?

Explanation:
"ordinary water maintenance". I always tend towards water. My Googles show water is always used most in a floods and river context. I always associate hydraulics with brakes, while it is little used in drainage, plumbing and other fields. Your water comes from the waterworks, not the hydraulics works, although the science of hydraulics applies to the waterworks.
