They can't all be repurchase agreements surely.

I need to explain the difference and have no clue. Does anyone?

contangos and repurchase agreements

Explanation:
If I remember well, on the Milan stock exchange a riporto is a specific type of future or repo trade which isn't found anywhere else involving shares (not as a standard contract, anyway), but in this context I think contangos will fill your space. A repos is really just a secured loan. You buy the security back by repaying the loan.

Explanation:
I believe they are talking about "normal" accounting.
"Swaps" can be replaced, maybe better, by " sale and repurchase agreements".
According to the Garzanti Dictionary of Business English, this second category can be assimilated to a (passive) balance brought forward.
