Italian to English translations [PRO] Food & Dairy / coffee bar | | Italian term or phrase: retrobancone | One of the items in a list of points to cover in an induction course for new staff in a coffee bar chain is: "MIS EN PLACE E DISPOSIZIONE RETROBANCONE PER APERITIVI, SMOOTHIES CRUSH, ECC..."
...
I assume this is the area behind the bar, where staff prepare the drinks before serving them. Is that right and is there a name for this? TIA :). |

Explanation: This is a bit of a guess, as I am not sure that there is a term in English for this. I can see it though in my mind!

I see this as a separate counter from the bar where they serve, the one under the racks of bottles. The barista is facing away from you (the customer at the bar) when he/she is working here.
