Italian to English translations [PRO] Food & Dairy / coffee bar staff training course | | Italian term or phrase: vendita suggestiva | One of the subjects covered in the induction training course for new bar/kitchen/waiting staff at a coffee bar chain is "VENDITA SUGGESTIVA (vedi manuale) SAPER DESCRIVERE I PRODOTTI ADEGUATAMENTE".
...
I'm seeking the 'correct' term if there is one: would it be 'proactive selling'? I've seen 'up-selling', but I think it's too specific a term and maybe not what is meant here.
TIA :). |

Oliver, I've now posted this as an answer. I was concerned about over-cluttering the glossary, but we may as well have the entry in both it>en and en>it pairs. Glad to be of help :-)

Asker: Thanks Sarah Jane, unbelievably 'suggestive' actually seems not to be a false friend here. If you want to post this as an answer you can have some points :)
