...
I'm seeking the 'correct' term if there is one: would it be 'proactive selling'? I've seen 'up-selling', but I think it's too specific a term and maybe not what is meant here.

I know there are too many -ings, but you can change the sentence a bit, and I'm sure you know how to do it quite well. :))
