Italian to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Food & Drink / press release for a new coffee machine
Italian term or phrase:color notte
"La macchina è stata realizzata per la prima volta con l’utilizzo di materiali nobili, come il vetro ***color notte*** utilizzato per la scocca. Il design minimalista caratterizza la macchina, in cui il raccordo tra i vari materiali è garantito da trafilati in alluminio che conferiscono precisione e robustezza."
Not sure if this is midnight blue, smoked glass or something else. There are no pictures.
I don't remember midnight blue being used to describe the colour of car windows, etc. , as far as I can tell. I may be missing out on something, I don't know. It sounds more like the paint (bodywork), like someone pointed out earlier, as I said I may be wrong.
I agree that 'notte' is used where the English equivalent 'midnight' is used for commercial illustration (paints, inks and other pigments) and for web page colour coding. But, 'notte'/'midnight' is not limited to only blue. It is often used with blue, but can be other 'dark' colours. Maybe you'd have to go for just 'midnight colour' or 'midnight colours' if there is a range of model colours or assume the colour is blue.
