XV century furniture - description of an 'Arca' (Chest)

Poteva aver coperchio piatto o a due spioventi inclinati verso i lati lunghi con cuspide spesso troncopiana, come in manufatti prodotti fino ad epoche recenti sopratutto nelle zone d'influenza slava.

And here's a more up-to-date description, may or may not help!

flattened ridge

Language variant: flattened top

Explanation:
As I understand the description these chests sometimes had tops that sloped toward the long sides. The cuspide is the line in the middle of the chest from which the slopes leave, which is troncopiani or cut off leaving a flat surface: troncare-cut off.
This is a deductive answer.

Example sentence(s):
  • the two slopes parting from a flattened ridge
