Unità Operativa Explanation: It's an abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 mins (2006-09-07 21:26:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In the text I'm working on at the moment a U.O. di Neurologia has cropped up. In my experience it's usually a unit/department that's part of a wider medical research institute or within a hospital. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 hrs (2006-09-08 17:16:26 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry Lizzy - only just seen your note - have been working flat out all day. I'd probably be inclined to use U.O. [Unità Operativa] the first time and maybe add an English explanation - it would be helpful if they hadn't left those bits out! - as it's the name of a department. |
