I can't see any reason why you can't use the more literal translation which is nevertheless very natural sounding English, which doesn't leave you with the problem of saying "and that is also its name today"

You'd need the past tense. I'm assuming it's clear from the context (heading, web address, elsewhere in the text) what the company's current name is, and that the 'attuale' bit will be tacitly understood.
