agree  Linda Thody: absolutely! Yes Colin has a point, but I think "promotrici" should be translated somehow. Otherwise why put it in Italian in the first place? It is/was not strictly necessary. I agree with tradugrace here; it appears to be underlining the causes

I see it like that, say: the main cause of accident was going on red; the facilitating causes were darkness and driving rain (low visibility), and ice on the road (difficulty controlling thre car).
