Italian to English translations [PRO]
Geography
Italian term or phrase: cordoni (sabbiosi) dunali
Here, the text is describing dune formation in the Ombrone River Delta in the Maremma. I'd be tempted to use "coastal dunes," but I'm not clear whether zones that form in a river delta (and thus, as a result of sedimentation and changes in the river) can properly be called "coastal." I'm wondering if there's some specific geomorphological term for this or whether I should translated literally. Thanks.
