The first one is in Libya and the second in Tunisia.
The old deser fox new this area quite well :)

The refrence is written in Catalan but that's what I found.

Tripolitania is between these two golfs (Western Libya) while
Cyrenaica is Western Libya (both along the cost). South of the cost there is the fezzan desert.

And yes it's GULF and not GOLF (at least in English) :))
