Geography / guide to mountain bike routes
Italian term or phrase: La morfologia presenta crinali acuti, sub arrotondati e arrotondati
"La morfologia ***presenta crinali acuti, sub arrotondati e arrotondati***, mentre le pendenze dei versanti sono generalmente elevate."
I am having a little trouble with the highlighted part of the sentence and wanted to get some feedback from others. Would it be OK to say "the morphology presents" or would it be better to say "characterised by" or something similar? Then I presume "sub arrontondati" is referring to the ridges, but is "sharp ridges, sub rounded and rounded" OK? The teminology almost seems to contradict itself?
Any help would be much appreciated... thanks!!

the terrain has sharp ridges, some subrounded and others rounded
Explanation:
Might "terrain" be better than "morphology", given that you're writing for mountain bikers rather than geologists? Also, "subrounded" and "rounded" aren't contradictory if both kinds of ridge are present. Good luck.
