Italian term or phrase: Vele e trine
Si parla di concrezioni stalagmitiche e stalattitiche e non riesco a trovare una traduzione per vele e trine che non vada al di là del "sail and lace-shaped concretions".
Qualche suggerimento?

curtain and lace (formations)
Explanation:
The 'curtain' formation part I'm quite certain about. I'm not familiar with 'sail' formations, although I suppose it's possible.

I have heard of 'lace-curtain' or 'laced-curtain' formations, but I'm not sure if there's a more appropriate geological term.

Thank you. I believe the best solution is a mix of both suggestions: curtain and lace-like.

sail-shaped and lace-like

Explanation:
Note the lace-like character of these concretionary .... for the formation of concretions. No positive figures for the propor- tion of dolomite to calcite ...

I don't think one can say lace-shaped

Asker: Thank you. I believe the best solution is a mix of both suggestions: curtain and lace-like formations. I wanted to give two points each but apparently it is not possible. Sorry for that.
