Bus/Financial - Government / Politics / Lending to SMEs | | Italian term or phrase: non possono pagare soltanto le piccole e medie | The meaning seems clear enough in isolation: 'only small and medium-sized [enterprises] cannot pay' but the whole sentence is: in un momento di crisi, non possono pagare soltanto le piccole e medie mentre i sistemi bancari continuano a realizzare e far crescere i loro utili.
Does the speaker mean to say that it is not only SMEs that SHOULD pay while banks continue to make profits, or are SMEs in fact the objects of pagare? |
