I have never seen the show, but I assume they're some form of undercover reporters - I wondered if it is a lighthearted show, or a serious show,which would determine how this should be translated?

It is an absolutely lighthearted, quite politically incorrect show, but so far it helped to find out some of biggest squalid frauds in Italy. :)
