poi trovo "to eat one's heart out", ma non sono sicura che abbia *solo* o anche solo *primariamente* questo significato "invidioso"
naturalmente mi sono fissata con eat nel tentativo di mantenere almeno l'idea di un rosicamento...

bitter old man (old??), bitter angry man, angry bitter one, e permutazioni varie (mi sono messa appunto a permutare su google, che è poi il modo migliore per non riuscire più a scegliere... un po' come come la storia delle quattrocento marche di dentifricio al supermercato)... comunque, ripassando mi è venuto in mente anche questo... è meno specifico nel significato e non mantiene l'idea del rosicare ma magari ti è utile o ti ispira altro
