Italian term or phrase: pane e copertoni
'siamo una grande famiglia come diciamo noi in Veneto “cresciuta a Pane e Copertoni” e probabilmente...fa proprio bene! Ci piacerebbe un giorno potervi far vedere tutto il nostro album di famiglia. Tante, tantissime foto che raccontano con semplicità la nostra storia, ed ovviamente quella del Ciclismo, dagli anni 30 ai giorni nostri, storie di XXX quando correva, quando iniziò a far biciclette, volti d’altri tempi, poi i figli: YYY ed ZZZ, piccoli e che poi crescono a “Pane e Copertoni” appunto...storie di incontri, storie di vita.'

This is from a product catalogue by an Italian bicycle manufacturer, commenting on the company. The phrase only comes up twice on Google and neither hit seems to give particular insight. Could it be a Veneto regional variant of "mangare pane e cipolle" (living the simple life, we're straightforward people with wholesome values, that kind of thing), but with a cycling play on words (copertone=tyre) thrown in? TIA :).
