Referring to a list of tasks to be carried out by an outsourcer on behalf of an insurance firm relating to "l’attività di controllo sulla correttezza dei dati e dei documenti per l’assunzione di polizze R.C. Auto e loro allineamento (annulli / disdette)."

C'mon I was punching these cards in 1969, surely this text doesn't refer to that period?
Another possibility could be the sort of punching that banks used to do on cheques before and after the value characters.
I wonder ....
