Italian term or phrase:quanto a
What is the exact meaning of "quanto ad" in the arrangement being described here? Is the 30 thousand in earnest money to be paid at signing in addition to the total price, or to be deducted from the total amount?
"Detto prezzo verrà pagato, ***quanto ad*** euro 30.000,00, contestualmente alla firma del presente atto, a titolo di caparra confirmatoria, e verrà rimborsato successivamente al pagamento del prezzo totale."
Explanation: It would be interesting to have the preceding paragraph or sentence, but I get the inkling this sum is in addition to the "detto prezzo".
Does that make sense?

Thanks, Angela. It seems too obvious to be true, maybe, but I believe this is the correct answer.
My apologies for the confusion created for not including the preceding sentence, which is simply: "Il prezzo della fornitura è fissato dalle parti in € 220.000,00." 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
The "detto prezzo" refers to the total price of the transaction, for which this is the down payment. I was wondering what the equivalent of "quanto a" is, since it doesn't seem to have any meaning here...
Can you also provide the sentence which "detto prezzo" refers to?

Explanation: this means that the 30,000,00€ will be paid at the moment of signing (someone is selling and the counterpart buying an estate, aren't they?) the document of sale. (You know the name of it in English. And this 30 thousand are a "caparra" . They are part of the total amount. BUT if the buyer changes his mind and does not want to buy anylonger, he looses the 30.000,00. (Caparra).

"Detto prezzo" is more than 30 thousand. 30 thousand is the caparra

I am still steadily sure that the 30.000,00 € are a part of the total amount and not paid in addition to any other amount. The sole fact that the 30 thousand are a "caparra" explain everything.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks Momo, my question was poorly put, I now realise. The 30 thousand is indeed part of the total, but I don't understand what "quanto a" means in this context. So the translation would go: "The total price, [quanto a]"?
Asker: I think the meaning is that the "caparra" is to be paid at the time of signing, in addition to the total amount. It will then be reimbursed when the entire amount has been paid. In this sense it is "in addition." Does that go with your understanding, Momo?
The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to.
The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability.
Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together.
