Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s)
Italian term or phrase: atto di pubblicazione
una copia autentica dell’*** atto di pubblicazione *** o dell’eventuale verbale di deposito del testamento stesso

Any ideas on how to say this in English? I understand that wills are published, but I'm not aware of any related deed or act (at least in the States).
How about "affidavit attesting to the publication (of the will)" ?

hi katherine. what about this? sounds too simple to be true, i know, but it looks like it's the answer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_(law)
Any person over the age of majority can draft their own will without the aid of an attorney. Additional requirements may vary, depending on the jurisdiction, but every will must contain the following:
The testator must clearly identify himself as the maker of the will, and that a will is being made; this is commonly called "publication" of the will, and is typically satisfied by the words "last will and testament" on the face of the document.

publication act of the will

Explanation:
the will is given to a (state) notary who makes an authentic copy of it and holds in his archive until the death occurs. Therefore the heirs cannot change ,falsify the deed or convince the willmaker to change his mind. In fact by this procedure the will is published because otherwise would reamin secret at least for the public or third parties. The testator gets a kind of "deposit cetificate" from the notary. Another procedure is when you deposit your will with the courts of your residence district and you get a similar "certificate".The court has to preserve it and open only after death. Simply writing a will is not equivalent with its publication, and usually the writers almost never show them to the relatives--as it may seem according to Wikipedia--a project what I do appreciate otherwise----since this may cause a lot of suffering for the testator due to the conflicting claims arising from his heirs
