contribution / to contribute (to capital in context)
Explanation:
Often termed a capital contribution

This definition:

"Capital contribution A contribution, in cash or in kind, leading to an increase in the equity capital of a company and which does not generally constitute taxable income for the company."

is for tax
The point about it is that generally no shares are received in exchange for the contribution.
