disagree  Paul O'Brien: "spot" is a misnomer here. it's directly translatable in the electric and theatre entertainment (spotlight, spot) sectors.

E che si sono adeguati ai principi che hanno decretato il successo dei marchi “fast fashion”. Hanno iniziato a creare due precollezioni, associandole alle due collezioni istituzionali primavera/estate e autunno/inverno. Alcuni addirittura ne realizzano altre quattro, chiamandole *collezioni flash*."
spot collections = "Dopo gli accordi siglati con Lagerfeld e McCartney è Elio Fiorucci il nuovo asso di cuori di H&M, che ha puntato sul creativo italiano per tracciare con il suo tratto spensierato e divertente una nuova collezione spot che va a integrare la proposta H&M dedicata all'estate 2005." Sono in pratica collezioni "speciali" che escono una tantum.

  -> in my opinion they're talking about a sales campaign and it makes me think about a clothing manufacturing company which is stipulating a contract with an agent. Therese may explain us!

agree  jokie: the problem for me is: let Flash and spot, or change to commercials and adverts?

  -> i'm suggestion that these are two more of the many of the "misued" terms that we find taken from english. hence therese cannot leave them as they stand, as they don't mean anything IMHO.
