Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / CCNL clause
Italian term or phrase: assorbire/assorbibilità
in a bit of a quandary as to excatly what assorbire means in this context. It's from a letter informing top management of a pay rise on the basis of the new CCNL.
Specific context:

Thanks for any help

Explanation:
This is what I understand here: according to our hero's contract, if he had been given an increase over and above the minimum salary he was due under the CCNL (an 'anticipo rinnovo contrattuale') before the CCNL was 'rinnovato', this increase would be 'absorbed' or assimilated into the new amount he is due under the 'rinnovato' CCNL. In this particular case he hadn't been awarded any increase in the interim, so there is nothing to 'absorb' and he is entitled to the new minimum salary as per the CCNL.

Thanks Patricia. I went for assimilated in the end, which I liked the sound of more than absorbed
