Hello,

Here is another term which has been puzzling me..

This is a very vague list of contract "types" studied at university:

"Programma (primo modulo da 7 cfu)
L’autonomia privata e le relative limitazioni;

·Gli effetti del contratto;

·La rappresentanza;

·La risoluzione del contratto;

·Le varie specie di contratto: consensuale, reale, ad effetti obbligatori, ad effetti reali

etc.

Anyone out there know what this means?

I have also found this definition online:

Contratti ad effetti reali o traslativi : Sono quei contratti che producono, come effetto, il trasferimento della proprietà di un bene determinato, la costituzione o il trasferimento di un diritto reale (1376). Sono naturalmente, contratti consensuali.

So I've worked out what it means, but I still can't seem to find a translation I like!

Explanation:
Since they involve the transfer of ownership of the above, it would be logical to assume this is what they are called.

Please see my answer, as amended. Clearly the term is not real estate or property agreement but simply :

REAL CONTRACT - By this term are understood contracts in respect to real property.

In the civil law real contracts are those which require the interposition of thing (rei,) as the subject of them; for instance, the loan for goods to be specifically returned.

By that law, contracts are divided into those which are formed by the mere consent of the parties, and therefore are called consensual; such as sale, hiring and mandate, and those in which it is necessary that there should be something more than mere consent, such as the loan of money, deposit or pledge, which, from their nature, require the delivery of the thing; whence they are called real.
