I respectfully disagree with your definition of the term ‘refurbishment’ which the Oxford online dictionary defines - in relation to the verb – as ‘renovate and redecorate (something, especially a building): the premises have been completely refurbished in our corporate style’
http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/refurbish. In any case, if you didn’t like the term refurbishment, I would have thought that ‘renovation’ rather than ‘renewal’ would have been more appropriate in the context of a property. I will not comment on the third translator’s offering, but will state again my surprise at your choice of ‘fund renewal’ given its grammatical and contextual incorrectness, regardless of any subsequent ‘manipulation’.
