Italian term or phrase: indagati
I am trying to find the word that is equivalent in English. I have been translating this as the "parties being investigated" but I know that there is a better word out there :-).
Fin dalla nomina, ai CT e stata concessa la possibilità di intervennire agli interrogatori degli indagati......
I was thinking of Indicted which means accused, but I don't think would work because they are being investigated and may NOT be indicted.

This for any insight

agree  M-A-Z: A perfect equivalent. "remanded" should not be used, because it implies that a law court is involved, while in most countries the police may interrogate suspects without obtaining permission from a court.

as for suspects it would be "indiziati" o "imputati".
