Law/Patents - Law (general)
Italian term or phrase: disconoscere
I just can't seem to find the word that fits for "disconoscere" in these sentences:

"Le controdeduzioni predisposte dalla X si soffermano, per **disconoscere** il ricorso proposto dalla Società, sulle seguenti ulteriori argomentazioni"

"la X **disconosce** integralmente il rapporto elaborato dalla società"

Any good ideas? Thanks!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Peter, I forgot to specify that I have a problem with "reject the appeal" because that is what the court usually does. I'm not sure whether I can use this in this context where we are talking about the counterclaims of the opposing party. What do you think?

for the purpose of challenging ...

Explanation:
you could also get round this by using opposing, or even throwing out - legal language is very basic ... However, I think reject in the context of the respondent' claims/arguments (suggested by Peter) is fine.

Explanation:
I think that what they are doing is contesting the opposing party's claims, and if you don't want to use the word 'reject', maybe 'contests' would fit the bill
