Italian term or phrase:L.P.
An Italian company is trying to get an order/injunction from an Italian court to get a UK company to pay it a sum of money.

I'm experiencing some difficulty in pinning this down. I had wondered if L.P. meant Legge Provinciale, but only the provinces of Bolzano and Trento to the best of my knowledge can issue laws, and this is happening in a different region of Italy.
Could it be "Legge Previdenziale"="Social security law"?
Explanation: if you google "spese generali ex art. 15", you find that it is nearly always followed by TF, as opposed to LP, not surprisingly, since the legislation governing spese generali in court proceedings is art. 15 of the Tariffe Forensi (DM 585 of 5/10/94) - see: http://www.giurdanella.it/mainf.php?id=151
I can only assume that LP is either a (pretty bad!) typo, or that it stands for some synonym of Tariffe Forensi, but unless there's another article 15 of some other legislation, that also governs spese generali (unlikely), I'd go for this without losing too much sleep over it ;-)
Legge Provinciale sounds pretty unlikely to me
In the meantime I'll ask my lawyer wife for illumination...

Found out: LP stands for Legge Professionale, which is in fact just another name for the Tariffe Forensi.

L’art. 57 della Legge professionale forense, nella formulazione originaria del 1933, prevedeva il potere dei singoli Consigli dell’Ordine di stabilire, ogni cinque anni, i criteri per la determinazione degli onorari e delle indennità con riferimento agli avvocati e procuratori esercenti nelle singole circoscrizioni, con delibera da approvarsi a cura del Ministero.
Il termine fu ridotto a due anni nel 1946, e la competenza a stabilire i suddetti criteri passò al CNF con due successive leggi, 3 agosto 1949 n. 536 per la materia penale e stragiudiziale, e 7 novembre 1957 n. 1051 per la materia civile, così da giungere al sistema attuale, che prevede appunto il potere del CNF di stabilire con cadenza biennale i criteri per la determinazione degli onorari e delle indennità dovute agli avvocati, con successiva approvazione del Ministro per la Giustiziai.

I think you're right, Simon. The version of the Tariffe Forensi I looked at didn't have an article 15, but article 14 is headed "rimborso spese generali".
the more I think about it, especially given the context, the more I am convinced that the drafter meant TF, but confused it with LP, which is related but not, as Phil points out, the same thing. I'd still translate it as TF, though
In reply to Phil: it seems that the Legge professionale originally dates back to 1933 (and I don't know what the original article 15 says - is that wjhat you were quoting maybe?). It has since been updated a number of times by various decrees, and the tariffe forensi is still sometimes referred to as the legge professionale, even though strictly speaking the TF are embodied in a decree which represents the evolution of the LP rather than the thing itself. This would seem to be borne out by the reference I've just posted at the end of my answer (no room here). All a bit contorted, I know, but it's the only way I can make sense of it, and my answer does seem to work. Where's your quote from, by the way?
Simon: your answer may be right, but the only problem is that article 15 of the Legge Professionale simply isn't relevant here. It says: "15. L'alta vigilanza sull'esercizio delle professioni di avvocato e di procuratore spetta al Ministro di grazia e giustizia, che la esercita sia direttamente, sia per mezzo dei primi presidenti e dei procuratori generali."
Legge previdenziale doesn't fit the context - it's obviously about who pays court costs. I thought maybe procedurale (which would suit the context), but that seems to be a body of law rather than a specific act.
