From the style, it never occurred to me that it might actually be a legal disclaimer. It is all tongue in cheek, like when somebody has raided the biscuit tin and you look the likely culprit in the eye and say "How do you plead?".

Hmmm, this almost sounds like a tongue-in-cheek sort of comment to me. Normally these disclaimers hasten to ensure that all names and identities have been sufficiently changed so that no one will recognize himself. In this case the author is saying, if you recognize yourself, that proves my description of the circumstances (and here, I guess, of the effectiveness of the natural remedy) is accurate. I think you should first decide whether this is really a legal disclaimer and then adapt your translation accordingly.
