belt system

Explanation:
On some (a few, actually) sites I find "sistema di cinghia a vite o contrappeso. This would make me think it is a belt system which can be tensioned by means of screw(s) (viti) or counterweight (contrappeso). Does it make any sense in your context?
As for the "larghezza" I'm not sure it refers to the screw - normally when you talk about screws the size referred to is their gauges, right? Could 50 mm refer to the belt size? But what is the context, again?

No need to be sorry :o). \"Vite\" means \"screw\". Even if it is for backpacks, couldn\'t it be exactly what I said? Backpacks have belts which can be tensioned, so as to get them to the right length, right? So may it be that these belts can be tensioned with a screw?
