In a site report (responsibilities of the production, quality control and quality assurance depts.):

"assicurare che le materie prime (attive e non) utilizzate e i prodotti fabbricati siano controllati in accordo con la legislazione Italiana e Comunitaria, le specifiche interne e le relative AIe."

Could 'AIe' be referring to certain international/worldwide regulations perhaps?
