of the whole sentence is still unclear to me, since I don't fully understand the process described in the manual. I left it as "The humidity of the pasta requires that the product be taken from the drying area and ground to a reference granulometry" in my document. This was a proofreading project, and in this case I left the sentence as the original translator had written it.

I'm certain that "reference granulometry" is the most direct translation of "granulometria di riferimento" ... I'm just not sure if the sentence as a whole makes sense (and again, I think the original Italian sentence is also poor).

I haven't heard anything back from the (engineers and others in charge of the manufacturing) telling me that there was any problem with my revisions.

Hi Joseph, sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. I think what they are saying is that they will be grinding to a particle size that matches the reference (the reference is a material that has a certain particle size or particle size distribution and the final grind of the product must match it). So, in the end, I would say something like "ground to the reference particle size"

hi joseph, I think the sentence simply means that the product will be ground in grains of different sizes and the percentage of each size range will be described by the reference granulometry (or grain size distribution). what is the product exactly?

It sounds like they are saying that the "granulometria" is the *tool*_ for grinding the pasta sample, and this doesn't make sense to me. Is there an explanation, or was the Italian text written badly?

As "granulometría" also means "grain size" I think they are referring to the size or type of pasta (reference size)
