Italian to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) / plastic pipeline
Italian term or phrase:munta
Limpidezza, colorazione, odore, sapore e formazione di schiuma dell’acqua e * munta * risultano inalterate dopo il contatto col manufatto.
This is from a product description for plastic well lining pipes - and I haven't the slightest notion of what the term "munta" means here - Milking, being miked, or milk just don't make sense to me.
Le prove di pompaggio, emungimento o come spesso si dice di portata, consistono nella sollecitazione delle acque di una falda tramite estrazione da un pozzo o pompaggio controllato. Ciò al fine di determinare i parametri idrodinamici della falda e di giungere all’ottimizzazione delle caratteristiche tecniche dell’opera di presa.
No question of the right word - Lucrezia came up with that - but you resolved the issue, Cynthia. it can't be "drain" as wells are usually drilled to supply water not to discharge it; "draw" is what you do from a well but usually with a container, or if the well is artesian and the water comes up on its own. Here the term is clearly "pumped" as it has come up several times in the text prior to this with just that meaning, in my interpretation. It was the typo "e munta" and the fatigue of 9 hours of work, that threw me. Thanks again Cynthia and Lucrezia - your help is greatly appreciated.
It looks like a typo. Maybe if you tell us what sort of thing "manufatto" is exactly and what these pipes are for, we can guess what "munta" stands for.

Not "e munta" but "emunta", pp of "emungere".
I did not know this word before
