Italian term or phrase: fusione
Still talking about a train door suspension system:
"Il centraggio avviene tramite lo spostamento degli spessori, situati tra le staffe laterali e le **fusioni** di sostegno sospensione".

I am not sure what is meant by "fusioni" here. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

casting
Explanation:
These will be cast iron pieces. Or of course castings of some other type of metal, but highly unlikely. Its in the glossary but mixed in with other thingsl

Not too worry.

Yes, Italian tends towards the abstract, while the English tends towards the particular. If you could see it you'd know that the casting in question was a section bar.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks, Kim!

Asker: Thank you, Jim, very helpful. Also, I just noticed that I wrote Kim instead of Jim when thanking you the other day - sorry, it was a typo!

Asker: I went with "casting" as it is a good fit here, even though, in the end, my client told me to use "section bar" - but there is no way we could have come up with that! Just for the record...
