Asker: Is the plural "foot rests/stands" or "feet rests/stands"? The occurences I found on the net mainly deal with "human" feet, while the "devices" are displayed as singular only

Asker: The large part of occurences I found where indeed about something to rest human feet, while a very small number of occurences (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=feet+rests+furniture&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=1708l5029l0l5437l10l9l0l0l0l0l261l1554l0.7.2l9l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1440&bih=805&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=038WT4PrFcqP4gT6vLn4Aw#um=1&hl=en&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=foot+rests+machinery&oq=foot+rests+machinery&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=4655l5184l0l5454l4l4l0l0l0l1l231l802l0.1.3l4l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=f681ec0dd35739cc&biw=1440&bih=805) show machinery and I guess these come from translations rather than source English

neutral  James (Jim) Davis: A foot rest or foot stand is something to rest human feet on. I don't think this is what it means.

I am aware of that and understant that foot support is a piece of a machine designed to keep its operator at a suitable or necessary level above the ground.

Asker: The subject is Mechanics. I mean supports for machinery, not for human part of the body
