Explanation:
I suggest that you ask the author if they mean one of the following meanings. Since you are talking about a moving machinery it probably means the direction in which the machinery moves, , clockwise/anticlockwise etc. I have translated a lot of machinery set-up instructions but I am not recognizing this phrase instantly.
