He replied that he had never heard of the word.
Since then the word has travelled from Italian and German into English mainly through US universities with the appearance of "informatics courses" and now with job titles and the names of departments.
Personally I still avoid it, most of the time, preferring the old fashioned, but still very, very heavily used "computer sciences course", "computer department", or "software/hardware" according to the case. |
