Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / SPC /preventative prescription of Vitamin D analogue
Italian term or phrase: patologie dermatologiche *estese *
Context:
Drug is an analogue of Vitamin K. Context is a list of situations for which it should be prescribed as a "preventative" treatment, or supplement.

"It is generally acknowledged that prevention of vitamin D deficiency should be carried out in subjects: -
 with low sun exposure or intense skin pigmentation, unbalanced diets (low in calcium, vegetarians, etc.), *patologie dermatologiche estese* or granulamatous pathologies (tuberculosis, leprosy, etc.);
 subjects treated with anticonvulsivants (barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone);
 subjects receiving long term corticosteroid therapy;
 disgestive disorders (intestinal malabsorbtion, mucoviscidosis or cystic fibrosis);
 hepatic insufficiency.

...has anyone used it in this context before? I'm not sure if 'estese' here is used to imply 'contagious' , or 'extended over the body surface'?

Input very much appreciated.
